Smoothie Delight


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of low-sugar fruit (cranberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries)
  • a handful of cherries (optional)
  • 1 to 2 cups unsweetened nut milk of choice (or water, if nut-free)
  • 1/2 cup of sunbutter (no added sugar, of course)
  • 1 tbs of healthy plant fat, like avocado or olive oil

Throw it all in the blender. Serves two!

The cherries provide an anti-inflammatory effect.
Cranberries are good for uterine health. They are a source of protein.
Other berries have been known for heart-healthy antioxidants.
It’s best to mix up the fruits to get a variety of nutrients, rather than sticking to your favorite and spoiling yourself rotten. 😉

Fresh (or frozen) cranberries have a glycemic index of 45.
Fresh (or frozen) blueberries have a glycemic index of 53.
Fresh (or frozen) raspberries have a glycemic index of 32.
Fresh (or frozen) blackberries have a glycemic index of 25.
Fresh (or frozen) strawberries have a glycemic index of 41.
Fresh (or frozen) cherries have a glycemic index of 20.

This meal counts as a fat and a carb.
